How to unlock new security patches for 5087Z (TCL 20 XE BOOST) - MARCH 2022 REVISION

Hi,

 

First of all this tutorial is only valid for TCL 20 XE / 5087Z locked to BOOST (RXUS1 provider id) which return STATUS_SEC_VIOLATE_ANTI_ROLLBACK when trying to flash using

5087Z-2[X=A]E4US1_EP8OUTO2.osp or 5087Z-2[X=A]E4US1_EP99UT90.osp for unlocking.

 

In order to unlock such new security patches phones do the following:

  1. Unlock the bootloader
  2. Select write partition operation, choose from the list that appears md1img and choose as file 5087z_modem_downgrade.osp which you got from the support area
  3. Do the REMOVE SIM_LOCK operation

 

Voila ! Now you can enjoy an unlocked phone !
